ABOUT US
Our services are centred around what owners and dogs need in their relationship. Each package, and session is well thought out on what is going to best help our clients communicate expectations to their dog. Our board and train is unique in setup since we hold private sessions during the dog’s stay to help encourage a smooth transition afterwards once their stay is finished.
The bed bug detection teams specifically are unique in that we have multiple dogs for detection services. Having multiple dogs keeps us from burning out one dog on bigger jobs. Bigger jobs get completed faster due to being capable of switching out the dog so there’s less breaks taken during each run.
Mandy
Mandy Matos, one of the founding members of The Evolved K9, grew up loving dogs. Being raised in Wyoming, she always knew animals had a special place in her life. Training dogs soon became her passion when she brought home her first dog at age 13. She trained her cattle dog mix to compete in various small competitions for six years. Once she graduated high school, she spent the beginning of her professional journey learning to train service dogs in cortisol, and glucose detection for those with PTSD, and blood sugar related issues. From there she decided to attend Starmark’s School for Dog Training in Hutto Texas. She graduated there with her Canine Training and Behavior Specialist certification. In 2018, putting her knowledge to use she worked with Ludovic Tuearban, and Paulina in North Miami. She would later on move back to Wyoming, start her own business with Chris, compete with her Belgian Malinois in Protection Sport Association, gaining her PDC. She’s excited to be back in Florida, where her heart truly lies, providing excellent training, and detection services to her neighbors.
Chris
Chris Matos, grew up in southern Florida, had a lifelong passion for working with dogs. Through his volunteering at the Miami-Dade rescue, he met a K9 Police Officer who mentored him in behavior, handling, and training. He dedicated his time spent with the dogs at the shelter, and in his personal life to working on them behaviorally. Often coming into contact with difficult behavioral cases. Ultimately his journey in the dog world led him to Starmark’s School for Dog Trainers in Hutto Texas. Upon graduation, he ensued his chosen career in training dogs in southern Florida before returning to school at Tarheel K9 in order to finesse his skills as a decoy, enhance his knowledge of training apprehension, and detection working dogs. Once he completed his time at Tarheel K9, he rejoined Mandy in Wyoming. Mandy’s success in achieving her PDC was largely in thanks to Chris’s amazing decoy skills, and intimate understanding of higher drive working dogs. He’s happy to be back home, helping Florida gain a better understanding of their dogs.
